Laaaast.fm
Forgot how cool it was to listen to my Last.fm widget on here. Apparently the Red station wasn’t working anymore, so I changed it to Fireflight. Similar music gets mixed onto it though.
Time
It seems to pass me by so quickly when I’m not watching. When I finally get around to updating… its been three months. I guess I’m not really cut out to be a blogger. I don’t like to talk about myself and I am not consistent with my updates. Oh well.
Tomorrow, I will be studying for my first take home upper division math test. Not really looking forward to that. I prefer to have set times for tests. I can show up and leave, without having to worry about fitting it in with my other studies. This will be interesting… especially because it is on the honor system with only 2 hours to get it done.

Summer
Yes folks, it is only a month away. I finally have an idea of what I will be doing… Caltech, here I come!!! The only question now is what to research.

Answers
When you don’t know what the answer should be, it sure is hard to come up with a program that does a good job. Maybe tomorrow will shed new light on it. Right now I am unable to get anywhere further.

Success
I now have the last.fm gadget up. So now I can listen to music on my own blog! Oh, and I guess you can too. :)
Music
Since this is my very first blog (I don’t think the one on MySpace counts), I am experimenting with various things. Such as embedding music. Which is what I am about to attempt. Wish me luck.
Dogs
My sister has dogs. Dogs she can be proud of. Because they just won not one but two competitions. On the same day. Against dogs whose owners were professionals. Not that this matters. But she is happy. So I am happy. ‘Cause she cooks better when she is happy.

Google Fails Me
Here I had such hopes of targeted ads that fit my site. And yet all sorts of totally… non compatible sites are being listed. I must do something to remedy this problem. But what? Help me out here folks. Anybody.
My Goal
I am tired of having to look all over the place for solutions to technical problems. For example, how do you make the smallest pdf possible with LaTex? What is the best open source html editor? From now on, I plan to post my solutions here.
By the way, as far as I can tell, the best way to get the size of a pdf down is to compile a DVI, compile it to PS, and compile that to PDF.
Ad Time
Yes, I now have the ads up. I think of it as my own little experiment, akin to the XKCD computer virus virtual machine environment. Will my ads get any hits?
Really, some ad tired people may wonder why do this when the ads probably won’t even make you any money? If only things were that simple. The truth is that I usually don’t mind google ads at all. I am actually curious to see what ads they put on. As I change my content, how well will the ads adapt. What posts draw the most views. For that matter, how do I get any views in the first place, much less ad clicks. We will see… or at least I will.
Website
Time for me to ask a question. I need a website. Blogs are great, but they lack file storage… and I need to store a number of text documents (pdf) on a website that I can easily access. I guess that means others should be able to easily access it as well. In any case, is there some free website provider that is better than geocities? Because I already have one of those. Maybe I should just use it. I don’t know. So give me a hand here.
Browser
I have decided to reveal something deeply personal about myself. Yes, that’s right, you can ignore my previous post. Because, some things are just so important that they transcend boundaries. Like my web browser. I use mine every day, all day long. I generally have over 20 tabs open. That’s right. I’m never going back to IE 5, or 6, or 7 for that matter. I found the amazing innovation of firefox back when it was 1.5. Multiple tabs, speed… it was amazing. However, I am not one of those users who marries their browser. When I find something better, I use it. And I did. To those of you (I speak as if there are readers, overly optimistic I know) who are in the few percent using Opera, you already know of what I speak. Crashes? More rarely then any other I have used on Windows. Fast? Rendering speed is amazing. Tabs? Oh yeah…. and you can leave them up for weeks with out a problem. Mail Client? Although I never thought I would… I no longer need to have Thunderbird open all the time, just Opera. Try it. I already tried all the others… and Opera is the best.
Why?
The fundamental question. I have always wondered why people would waste time telling the world what is happening in their private lives. Yet here I find myself, beginning a blog of my own. However, I am not a person who acts without reason. No, I will not share my life with random strangers whose searches lead them here. Rather, this will be a place where I allow only trivial matters to be discussed. If you don’t know who I am, you won’t find out here. No, my reasons are far more logical than that. Yes, this blog exists solely as a means to gain some small profit by ad-sharing with Google. You should take it as an experiment. The online equivalent of growing a few vegetables for sale at a Farmer’s Market. We shall see how it works. Actually, I will see how it works, and you will wonder.
